John Rosen is responsible for client engagements involving new business creation, branding, new product development and channel management. John has over twenty-five years of sales and marketing management, as well as strategic consulting experience. He has helped firms deliver real unit growth both domestically and globally across a wide range of industries: financial services, telecom, apparel, retailing, electronics, beverages, consumer packaged goods, consumer durables, and automotive & industrial products.
Rosen is a longtime Executive Director of MCAworks, LLC, a leading global marketing and strategy consultancy. He is the co-author of Stopwatch Marketing: Take Charge of the Time When Your Customer Decides to Buy, published in January, 2008.
Mr. Rosen currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member of The Drake Group, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to defend academic integrity in higher education from the corrosive aspects of commercialized college sports.
Rosen received his B.S. from Washington & Lee University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University.
Murat Akgun has been in the capital markets business for twenty-seven years in a variety of areas and roles. Prior to founding Faiser Consulting, he was a senior member of the structured finance business at XL Financial Solutions. Akgun also spent six years as a founding member CMET Finance Inc, prior to joining XL.
As the lead structured finance professional, Akgun coordinated the launch of two “first of its kind” AAA rated “repo” broker dealers, including raising the firm’s capital and securing its AAA rating. From 1994 to 1999, he was with Citicorp Securities Inc. as a senior financial engineer/marketer. He also performed a variety of roles in capital markets and derivatives at UBS, Drexel Burnham Lambert and E.F. Hutton, prior to joining Citicorp.
Akgun has a BA in Economics from University of Rhode Island.
David Sacco has 28 years of experience in the financial industry spending most of that time at UBS (1986-2009) in various positions in the fixed income business. His last role at UBS was as Global Co-Head of the Rates business overseeing sales and trading in Government Securities and Interest Rate Derivatives. He was also a member of the Fixed Income Executive Committee, the Investment Bank Board and the external board of TradeWeb LLC.
He was more recently (2010-2013) a partner in a small, private investment partnership focused on receivables lending and other alternative asset classes.
Sacco has a BS and an MBA from New York University.
Lawrence Flanagan is past President and Founder of New Tech Haven since January 2013 and was formerly the Executive Dean at the University of New Haven College of Business.
Flanagan is regarded as one of the most accomplished global marketing leaders in the country. Prior to his career in academia, he spent nearly three decades in corporate America as an executive at MasterCard Worldwide, the Procter & Gamble Company and L’Oreal USA.
As the global chief marketing officer at MasterCard, he managed a $1.5 billion budget, directed marketing strategies in more than 50 countries and helped launch the company’s hugely successful “Priceless” advertising campaign. He also established strategic partnerships with Major League Baseball, the PGA Tour and Champions League soccer in Europe and was part of the executive team that spearheaded MasterCard’s highly successful initial public offering in 2006.
At L’Oreal he played a leading role in the company’s successful acquisition of the Maybelline cosmetics brand. While working at Procter & Gamble he was an influential member of the Max Factor Company and Shulton, Inc. acquisition teams.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of New Haven, Flanagan spent five years in New York City working at some of the world’s largest advertising agencies.
He earned six Gold Effie awards from the American Marketing Association, the most prestigious honor among marketing professionals, and was recognized as one of the “25 Most Influential People in Sports” in 2004 by SportBusiness International. In 2008 the NY AdClub named Flanagan “Person of the Year”. In 2013 the University of New Haven awarded a Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa to Flanagan.
Flanagan, who is a former national co-chair of the CMO Collective, is active with Save the Children and previously served on the University of New Haven’s Board of Governors. He is on the advisory boards of Visitdays.com and Fraud.net.
Mr. Flanagan currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at AARP Services a part of AARP in Washington, DC – a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps people 50 and older improve the quality of their lives.
